REPORT
Australian Road Champion Peter McDonald must really like Xmas
puddings. It was great to see Peter who is back to fine form
having recovered from a broken collar bone. Pete took out the
A grade event as well as one of the A grade Primes of $50 and a
Christmas pudding. Robbie cater took out the other of the
Primes.
B Grade was not really the race that many of us wanted, many of us
still suffering from the RBCC Christmas party the night before.
Although we wanted a nice gradual warm up, new member Leonid
Antsfeld shot off the starting line much to the horror of Big Bazza
and others who screamed for him to settle. I happened to be on
Sarah Roy's wheel as she took off in pursuit of Leon.
About second lap and three of us found ourselves in a break having
caught and dropped Leon, it really was not the place I wanted to be
having to swap off turns every couple of hundred metres. We
were soon joined by eventual winner Stephen Tree who did an amazing
job to come across the break.
Later in the race another group of 4 including Marko Turner, Dave
Bomba and Stuart King also got across and I was able to have a
little bit of a rest in the closing few laps of the race.
Sarah led out the sprint but Stephen Tree and Stuart King got a little
gap on us with Dave Bomba and I dead-heating for third place.
Russel Bartlett took out the C grade event and a Christmas pudding!
