REPORT

Seventy four riders, including juniors, signed on for the a fabulous afternoon's racing which saw a good role up across the grades.

Well A grade started off fairly average lapping around the 3min mark.  Then lap 3 saw a  2 min 43sec recorded.  Well that is around 1 lap record pace and saw Luke Davison and Robbie Cater move off the front of the A grade peleton.

From there, the two escapees just went further and further away off the front until the sprint when Luke was just too fast for Robbie.

Meanwhile back at the peleton, the A chasers sprinted for 3rd place and it was Nick Rathrorne wearing lucky number 13 who got to the finish line first.

Same thing happened in B grade with Steve Griffiths and Andrew Riordan getting away.  However Steve eventually cooked Andrew and relegated the previous B grade winner to spectator.  Steve then proceeded to do sub 3 minute laps by himself level pegging the A Grade break who were swapping off turns.  What does that tell you?  Welcome to A grade Steve.  By the way B Grade don't get too excited about your 41kph average, that was Steve who came in about 2 minutes ahead of the bunch.

Quite a bit of time went by, before the B Grade bunch sprint  came across the finish line with RBCC's Mark Deaves taking it out and claiming second overall.

Quite a big D grade bunch with eventual winner, Nathan Bonarius never too far from the front and break-away expert, Tony Caruana sitting close to the front ready to cover any break.

A gang from Koora or rather Kooragang turned up and had a pleansant afternoon's racing at Heffron Park.  They were pleasantly surprised to have finished a race without black faces and wheezing from amonia inhalation.  Just kidding guys, I love racing up at your circuit just got to remember to pack my soap scrubbing brush and ventolin.

Matty Fortuna, shows that he has (luckily) inherited very little in terms of bike skills from his father as he sprints home to victory in the E Grade event.

Matt Yaxley looked pretty fair dinkum before the A grade event as he had his chiropractic team stretching him and tying him in knotts.
