REPORT

A Grade
A well timed sprint from Liam Kelly followed by David Stevens and Chris Wright (check) managed to overcome 4th place getter Jules Galli. Jules led
out with 1 lap to go, but with the experience of riders like Liam and co, the A grade bunch did not panic and managed to haul Jules in with 30 metres to the finish line. With the promotion of ten riders into A grade this week, the bunch was a sizable 13 and this will increase as some riders stayed away due to scattered showers Sydney experienced most of the day (fortunately the rain stayed away for today's racing).

B Grade
B Grade was won by Stuart Lord followed by Tony Unicombe and an in form Roger Shackleton, the three place getters put the pressure on in the late stages of the race and managed to break the B grade field up with riders trying to close gaps and others happy to settle in the following auto-bus. The
commissaries added an extra lap to B Grade due to a crash and possible interference from a grade close by. The leading bunch sprinted with what
they thought was the sprint lap, to their surprise they were then given the bell.....in the spirit of racing Tony and Roger settled the race in a gentleman's agreement and crossed the line as they did the previous lap. Well done gents.

C Grade
The C Grade bunch reached a total of 18 riders, which made for good bunch racing, the bunch put in a number of spirited attacks, but with numbers high
and the willingness of the riders to work together to close down attacks the race was decided in a bunch sprint. The placegetters were Paul Martin followed by Angus Gale and Brendan Arlington. Well Done.

D Grade
D grade started with 8 riders all working together in the early laps with Auriel Carruthers and Kirsten Chee riding at the front and applying plenty of
pressure, however the two juniors of Kieren Bull and Patrick Sharpe would have none of this and put their own attacks in during the race. Young Patrick attacked in the closing laps and gapped the two remaining chasers of Auriel and Kirsten and managed to win with a sizable gap. Patrick did have
some help from A grade as he tacked on the back for a few hundred metres, A warning was given to Patrick stating sitting on the back of other bunches is
not in the spirit of competition and could lead to a DQ. but it was determined he still deserved his win. Well done Patrick if you keep this level of riding up you will be finding yourself mixing up with A graders in no time.

Just a reminder to all, that we had another crash where fellow riders suffered injuries that will keep them of their bikes for a little while.
Please keep in mind this is club racing and the prize of winning does not out-weigh the consequences of coming off. So please keep in mind while racing your safety and the safety of fellow riders.
