REPORT

We have abandoned the handicap racing for D, E & F grades because they just couldn't get the hang of working together and racing degenerated into 1's and 2's strewn about the 2 kilometre circuit.  You people seem to be happier riding as a bunch so we will leave well alone.

A fabulous sprint in E grade saw Leanne Emery on her brand new Argon 18 Gallium just pip Sydney's Laurie Scandrett on the line for first place.  Laurie perhaps confused by the East finish line as depicted in above photo seemed to shut down early whilst Leanne who was almost biting the handlebars kept the throttle wide open and just got Laurie on the line.  In the podium photos left, Leanne proudly displays her winning stead, the extremely  light flagship of the Argon 18 fleet, The Gallium, complete with a couple of grands worth of carbon wheels.

Above D grade action as they flash past the start/finish line.  Well the A,B C handicap was close this week with A grade only catching the combined B/C bunch on the bell lap.  The A graders turned over like a well drilled team time trial team with Spurge (who is obviously doing miles) sharing much of the workload.  C grade need to learn how to ride a handicap as they made it easy for B and ultimately A to catch them with single riders going up the road and burning themselves out for nothing rather than working for the grade to stay away from the chasers.  Also there were riders who were going to the front with no intention of working and merely getting in the way of workers trying to turn over and get into a rhythm.  When you learn this C grade you will actually stay away and start winning this race.  If you don't want to work, then don't go to the front.  Let your strong riders swap off turns and if you are tired sit down the back and don't get in their way.
