REPORT
A beautiful sunny day brought out the
spectators and huge numbers lined the sides of the track
watching the excitment & spectacle of the Randwick Botany
Cycle racing |
| |
A grade on the starting line and our
Elite riders go through a last minute strategy meeting.
"Hey Josh, you want to be my Domestique today?" |
| |
The boys were looking good out there.
Left Josh Marden and Dave Treacey in pursuit of Pete "The
Machine" Macdonald. |
| |
Natahan Page sucks in the big ones while
Computer sucks his wheel. |
| |
So where did "The Machine" go? Same
place as usual, about 1/2 kilometre in front of everyone
else. |
| |
Tony Horneman got some great close-ups. |
| |
No surprises who won A grade. Pete
raises his hand in victory. |
| |
Meanwhile back a little way Nathan "Rollo"
Rollason took a leaf out of "The Machine's" book and rode
away from the A peleton on the bell lap to take a great
second place. Good work Rollo. Further back Computer
safeguards his third spot. |
| |
B grade action and Karl Bellamy leads
the peleton through the first corner. Andy Hall was
riding extremely well for someone who has been off the bike
for a while. |
| |
Michael Murdoch looked pretty
comfortable and confident as he led B grade passed the
start/finish line at the bell going into the final lap.
Wonder if he knew Luke Davison and Tyron Bicknell were both
tucked in on his wheel. |
| |
C grade action and two of our C grade
heavies, Laura The Queen of Heffron Bortoluzzi and Rocky
"The Down Hill Rocket" Fortuna keep close to the front of
the peleton. |
| |
Left Pete O'Conner takes out the C grade
peleton sprint from Matthew McGoon. My apologies to
winner Scott Simpson. You must have been so far in front
that I missed you. |
| |
My apologies to D & E grade.
Sorry no action shots of you guys this week. I went
for a warm up ride and Tony H arrived late. At least I
got back for the podium shots and you might notice that I
got the tops of your heads in the shot. Not like Tony
H who took the podium shots of the A, B & C grade winners. |
