Newlyweds
Sandie and Dave Mackey returned to racing at Heffron Park
on Saturday 8 May 2004 after a grand wedding in Centennial
Park on 24 April 2004. Victoria was the destination for a
relaxing honeymoon. The couple maintained some fitness by
cycling along the Great Ocean Road. Sandie raced in the
16km E-Grade race and Dave in the 32km B-Grade event. |

Anthony Spurgeon cruises in for
victory in the A Grade race. David Rae knows
that it is all over so sits up to take second.
So too does RBCC's Jersey Sowa but wait. No one
told Mark "The Slapper" Robertson that the race was
over. Slapper tries to jag Jersey's third spot
while he isn't looking. Good one Slapper. |
| |
Richie Collins is making it a habit
as he throws for the line to take out B grade whilst
Adam Shepard looks across to see he's taken 2nd place.
Good ride by Kevin Black for 3rd place |
| |
RBCC's Steve Foster is also making
winning his grade a little bit of a habit. Might
be time that you came up and played with the big boys,
Steve. |
| |
RBCC's Peter Flynn, eventual 2nd
place getter leads the D grade bunch down the
straight. Eventual winner, Xavier Colquhoun
looks a little worred as hs sees a gap opening up
around 4th wheel. |
| |
E Grade action with James Young
leading the bunch down the start finish straight with
eventual winner Joe Gatt looking pretty happy in
second wheel. |
| |
A big E Grade bunch lined up for
this week's racing. Good to see Julia Guinan
back. Also good to see Sandie Mackey straight
back to racing after the honeymoon. We even put
a secret weapon, Roy O'Toole (white top) in the race
and Joe Gatt still won. |

Shaun O'Neill brought his daughter
Keeley down to watch him. Whilst he was outside
I found a club bike that fitted her perfectly.
When Shaun came back into the clubhouse he was greeted
with, "Guess what dad, I'm racing next week. All
I need is Jersey knicks helmet, shoes and pedals.
The club can lend me a bike." |
