REPORT

This week we welcomed members of the Sutherland club to racing at Heffron.  Left are the boys and girl, getting together for a group shot after the afternoon's racing.  Probably the biggest contingent of them were in B grade and they really tested the B graders with attack after attack.

In spite of the high pace, the high wind, the constant attacks by the Sutherland riders, it was Arthur Driver who cruised in for final victory.  We all got a lesson from a great rider on the "Sunny Side" of 50, who gave all the young blokes a bit of a kick in the pants.  Actually it was Great Britain first and second with Arthur first and John Peters, President of the Sutherland club second.  Left, the couple of "Poms" celebrate their first and second placings.  Great ride by RBCC Under 15 rider Luke Davison for third place especially given that he must have been really topped out in his restricted gearing with the huge tail wind blowing right down the finish straight allowing for some pretty big finishing sprint speeds.

I'm pretty glad that we put young Nick Rathbourne up to A grade as he was tearing our legs off in B grade.  I guess some of the A graders are not as pleased.  That's Nick left out by a country mile taking the A grade sprint.  Nick apparently upset "The King" Anthony Spurgeon after Nick's team mate, Craig Demsey led him out.  "They worked me over", the King was heard to say.

Left, regular Dulwich Hill rider Al Sumner drives the D grade bunch down the main straight.  Bit of a fall in this bunch saw several not finish however thankfully they are all ok .

Ok E grade, enjoy it while you can.  With Tony away, the photographic duties fell on me.  Left,  it was Randwick Botany first second and third with Matthew Hynes (left) finishing first with Lee Emery second and further back Julia Guinan is sprinting hard to take third place

JUNIORS

Highlight of this week was a one lap individual time trial with all the juniors trying to beat their previous recorded time and get a PB.
