REPORT

A fantastic turn out and a glorious day saw eighty two riders (including Juniors) compete in the days events.  All the grades were well represented with E Grade having the most riders that I have ever seen competing in that grade.

A Grade was won by Matthew Lucas.  Matthew, pictured left, was able to hold off Jerzy Sowa in the sprint.  Robbie Cater was content to role in for the "Bronze".  These three riders broke away early and spent most of the race working together or rather trying to stay with Robbie.  Right hand top in this picture we can see Phil Chippindale and his lovely better half Camille.  You might remember that classic pose of Phil's in the 29 March report.  I know Camille loved it.   Click here for those who missed it

Sydney rider, David McHugh tried on numerous occasions to break from the bunch and was brought back on every occasion.  His perseverance paid off however as he was able to hold off fast finishing RBCC junior Michael Murdoch and Frank Fortuna in the final sprint.

The Murdoch Sun Lounge has been very popular.  Here the two Murdoch brothers Tom and Michael kick back and enjoy the glorious afternoon.  Reason they don't look tired is that they didn't do anything the whole B grade race and left it to us old blokes to do all the work out the front.  Apologies to our sponsor, The Newington Inn hotel, someone has left a bike leaned up in front of your banner.  However I must say it is a magnificent looking machine.

The Sun Lounge was very popular and it wasn't long before the chairs and tables began to fill.  Joining the Murdochs is our old mate, "The Slapper" and young Lauren Ballesty.

Sorry, C, D & E grade, no story on your action packed events.  You are going to have to inform me of the action details if you want the story published.

We'd like to welcome our old mate Jason Webb back to the fold.  Jason has been living in Canberra for a while but yesterday rejoined with Randwick Botany.  Time has obviously been good to Jason.  He is still as handsome as ever.
