FIRST ROUND OF 2010 CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS |
|
The first round of the Club Championships was cancelled for
inclement weather and unsafe track conditions. It will be
re-scheduled in the near future on a date to be announced. |

CONGRATULATIONS "Again" SUE HENRY |
|
Sue took Gold in the Criterium and Bronze in the Road
Race at the NSW Masters Championships at Moruya on the
South Coast 15 & 16 May. Good work Sue. |

Sue
was first Woman home and second place overall in the
Cootamundra Haycarters Handicap on Sat 8 May 2010.
Sue was in the limit bunch and after about 3kms the
bunch had gone from 20 to 8 and then at the top of the
first climb there were only 6 riders including Sue.
They worked well together with everyone pulling turns
and after the second hill there were only 4 left.
With 5kms to go they were told that the scratchies were
only 1 minute behind. Then they really picked it
up and with lots of mutual encouragement crossed the
railway tracks and hit the last left hand turn before
the finish straight still in front of the fast finishing
scratchies who eventually finished only 6 to 10 seconds
behind them.

VALE MURRAY BOOTH |

It is with
deep sadness and regret that I announce the tragic
loss of our club mate, Murray Booth. Murray was
killed instantly when the car he was driving left the
road and collided with a tree at Sutherland in the Royal
National Park on Sunday morning.
Our thoughts, prayers and deepest condolences are
extended to all his loved ones but particularly to wife
Jenny, and his two young children, Alexis and Ben.

HOOPER
LANE TURBO STUDIOS WINTER RACE SERIES. |

Club
Sponsor, Hooper Lane Turbo Studios is conducting an
indoor winter race series, every Tuesday night between
1st June and 24 August 2010.
Race entry will be $10 and races will be conducted
every 30 mins starting at 5pm and concluding at 7.30pm.
The races will be able to facilitate 40 riders each
night.
Over $6000 in series prizes. Registration
commences at 4.15pm on the night.

HILL CLIMB CHAMPIONSHIPS & THE BLAYNEY to BATHURST |

GOLDEN GIRLS
Congratulations to our State hill climb
champions, Golden Girls, Anna Murray and Sue Henry.
Sue won the Masters 2 event in a time of 12:38 and Anna
won the Masters 4 Womens event in a time of 12:24.
Congratulations girls !!

UNIFORMS SPOTTED IN HUNGARY |

Congratulations to Zoli Horvath and Sara Vidakovich
and don't they look great on the podium. Zoli was
first and Sara third in the Hungarian
National Road Series events have
placed 1st (for Zoli) and 3rd( for Sara) in Stage 1 - GP
F3 of the Tour de Pecs series.

CHILLY IN THE MORNINGS ?? |

The Club has
just taken delivery of new RBCC Giletes (Wind Jackets).
Front is exactly like the jersey. Back is really
cool as the pattern is now printed on the mesh.
Also there is a zipper (under the Vantage Freight logo
left) allowing you to get access to the rear pockets of
your jersey underneath.
Cost is $90
See John or Joanne at the club house.
We are there from about 12.40 onwards. Please
ensure that you attend before 1.45pm as after that we
are too busy with the start of racing at 2pm |

NSW STATE
TRACK TITLES
"DREAM TEAM ON THE
PODIUM" |

RBCC was well represented at the recent NSW State
Titles. It is with great pride that I tell you
that EVERY RBCC member who competed went home with a
State medal.

| The State titles started Friday night
with the first event being the Team Pursuit. The
2010 "Dream Team" of Chris White, Barry Mourad, John
Buckton & Dave Stevens took the Bronze medal in the Over
150yr event. Personally I would like to dedicate this
medal to the memory of Lionel Cox. Lionel and Brad
Cox spent about 10 years working on my start and for
those who thought it was bad on the night, you should
have seen it back then. Other RBCC medalists
included current world UCI champions, Gavin White & Ian
Aitken. World UCI Silver medalist, John Collette
and oh yes, Charles Dalyrmple-Hay.
On Sunday morning RBCC and Team Brennan IT, took out
the prestigious Team Sprint...........more.
Second Weekend - Time Trial & Scratch races.
Seven (7) RBCC members competed which resulted in 6
State medals. An awesome ride by Aaron Latinovic
in the Masters 2 scratch. Aaron tried to take a
lap and didn't quite get there. He spent 17 laps
off the front by himself and the bunch reeled him in
about 4 to go. Just very unlucky not to have been
