Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Day 4

DAY 1 - CHARLOTTES PASS

Above, Pete "The Machine" Macdonald claims victory on the first day's climb to Charlottes Pass.

Above, I thought I had it shot to pieces until Pete overtook me at the 5km to go sign.  Well I took the "Team Hubbard" victory.  Team Hubbard started 30 mins early !!

Further down the mountain, the peleton had split into pieces.  Left Mark "The Slapper" Robertson climbes with Josh Marden and Pat Naughton.

Above, the going must have got a little too tough for Pat who was happy to back off and set his own pace.

Above, Slapper and Josh worked well together.  Left we see them both smiling and enjoying the ride immensely.

Above, a closeup of Slapper's ear to ear grin.

Above, here's Josh almost bursting into laughter.  I know that it does not look like it but this is a huge smile for Josh.  That's about the best we have seen out of him.

Further down the mountain Scotty Callum, right, hams it up with Spuge, Laura and the rest of the gang

What happened to chivalry guys??  You just took off and dropped poor Laura.  Actually I think it was a case of Laura hitting off the front and dropping them.

Brendan Ingram and Thomas Murdoch likely settled down to their own pace

Some of the other members of "Team Hubbard".  Mark Murdock and Ritchie Jenkins. Myself, Mark, Ritchie and big Chris Reynolds.  Team Hubbard set out 30 mins ahead of the others but even we eventually split apart also as we settled into our respective climbing tempos.

Behind everyone and taking it easy was the long and short of it all.  Big Mick Murdoch and little Tommy Paton took it very easy up the climb.  Tommy saving himself for the forthcoming National mountain bike titles the following week. Right another shot of Mark nearing the top.

John Hadley, left, had his first training camp at Jindabyne and enjoyed it enormously.  I am sure that John will by a Jindy regular from now on.

Pat Naughton is already a Jindy regular and appears to be really enjoying his road riding lately.  Pat is great on the track.

Sneaky Pete Lynch flew in from Melbourne.  There was no way that he was going to miss the RBCC Jindy camp. Pete was lean and mean, obviously doing a few "k's" which was obvious on the climbs.

Spongee did the whole weekend fairly easy as well.

Left Laura sees the summit and gets out of the saddle to sprint up.  Right, Mark Murdoch approaches the summit.

Left, Ritchie "Don't Touch Me" Jenkins gets close to the top. Right, Dr "Sneaky" Pete Phd, gets close to the top.

Left Slapper and Josh just about there.  Right, Spongee almost there as well enjoys the magnificent backdrop.

Left, Anthony "Spurge" Spurgeon sees the summit and sprints for it much to the amusement of Brendan Ingram. Right big Chris Reynolds, (all 105 kilos of him) makes it to the summit.  Check out Chris's thighs.  Can't wait to get him on a track bike.

"The Machine" just couldn't stop.  So he just kept riding back down again to accompany other riders up. Finally the long and the short of it made it to the top.

Here's the crew all at the summit.  In fact it got quite busy up there.  It was lucky that we had Constable 1st Class Spurge up there to take charge and direct traffic

After rugging up for the descent, it was off for the leisurely ride down the mountain which ALWAYS turns into a race.  Here's the 2 speed demons out the front with the main peleton just behind.

I made the mistake of partaking of a nature break too long and when I returned they were all gone except for Michael "Big Bird" Murdoch and Tommy "Downhill Demon" Paton.  Just tuck in behind guys and I'll take you across to them.  Are you on ???

Well perhaps I was going a little fast for young Tommy's restricted gearing and his feather weight.  After all I drop like a rock being the third heaviest down there.  1st was big Chris at 105 kg, then came Rocky Fortuna at 93kg and I squeezed in third at a mere 91kg.  After a while we just took it easy .

Here's some of the lads all rugged up for the descent.  Spurge, off the front with Slapper managed to hit some impossible speed in the high 90's.  He must have been sprinting like he does at Heffron down the mountain. Right, the boys almost back to Jindabyne with the lake in the background.  How glorious is this place?
